Club Accreditation is a kite mark of quality that has jointly been developed in partnership between Sport England and National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGB's) to ensure that all clubs are working towards being Safe, Effective and Child Friendly. St Helens Sports Development has developed a Local Accreditation Scheme in partnership with the District Sports Council for certain sports, which are also recognised by Merseyside Sports Partnership. St Helens Sports Development and the District Sports Council have produced an Adult Club Accreditation Scheme, which allows all Local Sports Clubs to go through Club Accreditation. The benefits for doing Club Accreditation are as follows:

• Access to potential funding sources - revenue and capital.
• Access to education, skills and training opportunities.
• Improve the quality of coaches.
• Access to volunteers.
• Stronger foundations for the future of the club.
• A more professional Club with improved polices and procedures.
